Make It Compulsory For Animal Abusers To Be Recorded On An Animal Abuse Register

- 0 - THERE IS NO

Abuse against animals is increasing dramatically and includes domestic, wild and captive (such as circuses and zoos). Very rarely are offenders, when found guilty, barred from keeping or being involved with animals. I ask that it becomes law that an Animal Abuse Register is brought into place and that all offenders are placed on this register. I also ask that offenders are barred from keeping or working with animals for a minimum period of 10 years if not lifelong. Please sign in support of a ‘Animal Offenders Register’, a central database which will consist of name, address and convictions of people who have been convicted of any form of animal cruelty and abuse. Breeders and sellers of animals will be required to check this central database before allowing any animal they own or breed to go to a prospective owner. If it is found that someone who has been convicted of animal cruelty or abuse has obtained another animal the supplier or breeder should be held liable and prosecuted.

At the moment there is no law to stop anyone who has been convicted of animal cruelty from obtaining another animal to inflict further abuse on. Stricter laws need to be implemented to help protect animals, heavier fines and longer prison sentences as well as an Animal Offenders Register.

There is a proven link between mass murderers and those convicted of other heinous crimes having abused animalsjrsbgdds at a younger age. As children, soon-to-be serial killers often torture animals; 99% have admitted to acting out violent fantasies on animals before doing so to humans. Ted Bundy, David Berkowitz and Jeffrey Dahmer have more in common than just being serial killers. These three murderers are also connected by the fact that each of them tortured and/or killed animals during their childhoods. “Researchers as well as FBI and other law enforcement agencies nationwide have linked animal cruelty to domestic violence, child abuse, serial killings and to the recent rash of killings by school age children”, says Dr. Randall Lockwood (vice president of training and initiatives for the Humane Society of the United States.

It is clear that those abuse animals often go on to commit murder etc. Help to stop it NOW by helping to establish a National Animal Abuse Register!

  3. We need to act and be their voice.I for the life of me cannot understand why anyone would want to hurt a poor defenseless animal. I believe those who hurt and abuse animals should have a very harsh punishment. We need to help protect them from this and educate others on what to look for and how to step in.

  5. It is proven that animal abusers and animal murderers most of the time start off that way and then most commonly turn into serial killers. Please, we need to see who these people are. For the sake of the animals that don’t have a voice.

  7. Coming from someone who has adopted two animals in the past year it sickens me that someone could be so cruel to any animal for any reason. My pit bull that I adopted had a various amount of behavioral issues, he is terrified of mostly everyone, he fears getting hit in the face so he flinched when we first threw him a toy, and he has separation anxiety so he follows me everywhere because he is so afraid of being left behind again. Abusing an animal who’s only desire is to love you is just wrong and I will always defend those cannot speak for themselves.

  9. People that can commit these type of crimes against innocent animals are known to be connected to many other heinous acts. These people MUST be registered as a threat forever. They are unstable and have severe mental issues.
